Common Decency

At one point in time several generations ago....
Actually let me stop there because it should still be alive today.
CHIVALRY!!!
It is NOT dead and it never did die it just isn't taught anymore.

It really should be shown to our children that
  • Doors should be opened for women and elderly people. (Yes, it is frustrating when they are rude or don't say thank you but it is worth it)
  • Men should walk on the outside of the sidewalk closest to the road.
  • We should ALL say please and thank you. Yes ma'am and no Sir. Excuse me and Pardon.
  • If a man is in the car with a woman when she pulls up to a gas station, the man should get out and pump the gas.

Church is Hard

This morning I read a post about how church is hard.  Church IS hard but for more reasons than one can really list.  Church is not the building. Church is the body of the building . Church is your brothers and sisters in Christ . Church is a Family and a safe place where you can come for support and for growth . But while that is how a church is supposed to work, and for some people it does, it doesn't sound inviting for the people who have families that are battlegrounds. If the blood or marriage family they have isn't safe, what makes a big building with 4 walls with a pack of strangers safe? If the believer has a family who beats them down, berates them, belittles them, and tells them they are not good enough, what would make them think that the church is safe? Church should be a group of people you can gather around and feel safe with. If you are having a hard time you can trust them. Here is the issue.  "How is your husband treating you?...

For those who aren't Germ-o-phobes

Dear Coworker with the fever and sniffles, Please understand that YOU are sick and having a fever not only shows that you are fighting off illness, but it also shows that you are contagious . While you may not want to miss work and skip out on pay, we understand that; however we are frustrated for many reasons you seem to be forgetting. Suzy has a child at home with an autoimmune disease that can cause her to fall VERY ill even though you only have the sniffles. Dean has a deep fear of germs because he is hospitalized each time he gets sick. His body is unable to fight the disease off like yours can do. Jacob has a grandmother he is a caretaker for, if he is sick he can not get around her for fear of her catching whatever funk you are carrying. Lisa has a vacation coming up that she has had planned for months! If she is sick she may not enjoy it or even worse may not get to go and will waste all of that money she spent for the bookings and plans. Joy is a genuine germ-o-ph...
